Managed Rail Operations, Comprehensive LRT System Analysis
Put in charge of Light Rail Operations, reporting to the Santa Clara County Transportation Agency Director (General Manager). Responsible for administrative, operating and maintenance activities associated with the startup and operation of revenue service on the agency’s new light rail system, including staged opening of the LRT line, and initiation of historic streetcar service on the segment between Civic Center and Downtown San Jose.
Subsequent work as a consultant included management of a major Light Rail Analysis, evaluating operational, demand and service issues and recommendations for cost-effective ways to improve ridership and performance. Later work also included recommendations for enhanced light rail connections with the BART Santa Clara County extensions.
